BLACK GIRL 🙆🏾🙆🏾💁🏿

BLACK GIRL 🙆🏾🙆🏾💁🏿

A Poem by Trina Lee

Black girl
We will turn your kings against you
Wipe away your protection
Divide your race into sections
The lighter ones shown more affection
We will call you names
Control your mind
You will hate your skin
So the melanin doesnt shine
Anything about you
We will mock and hate
Black girl, black girl
This is what we will say
Your hair is nappy
Your skin is too dark
Your attitude is too sassy
It's all your fault
Your lips are too big
your nose is too wide
Black girl black girl
Them features you must hide

But it's something about your strength
That we can't seem understand
you wear your pain so beautifully
As if it's God's best plan
Something about you is magical
Something about you is rare
We turned the world against you
And you still walk with no fear.

A very poinient poem you give a great insight on to what most black women feel and infact what everyone feels at some point regardless of race my only critique would be that the last stanza doesn't hit hard enough adding magical instead of pushing for something like a force to be reckoned with would have really given a powerful ending like no matter what you say i'm a proud black woman a f###ing volcano so keep out of my way
