Sadness

Sadness

A Poem by Tsukiyo Aisu

Sadness

The single teardrop that slips down her cheek,

The soft cry that passes her lips,

The sorrowful sob as she chokes,

And the air that suffocates her so.

Lips once upturned now frowning,

Eyes that sparkled now hazy and lost,

Hair once beautiful, so bright and vibrant,

Now dirty and matted.

The laugh now fake.

The sobs now hidden.

The once joyful voice,

So calm and deserted.

The heart of one…

So young

So pure

So torn apart.

All she has grown to know,

Was the sadness that dwells.
