American girl

American girl

A Poem by Christopher Thomas Woods

American girl with your eyes
there so blue
Im just not sure if i can
keep my hands off of

you laugh and ya sing
as you lie in the sand
if you need some sun-tan lotion
I will gladly rub your

can you look into my eyes
and tell me you'll be mine
cause I want you in my life
every day all the time
we could be together
or maybe it wont last
but theres one thing you could give me
and thats a piece of

(your mind will do)
I'll give it to you straight
and you know i'll keep it real

(you know its true)
I know its not like you've got something
that i wanna steal

i kinda liked the whole clever transitions between the stanzas. it comes off as a cute, shy, flirtatious piece. the last stanza seems wrong somehow. maybe just rework it a little so that it doesn't end on "steal".
