Deja Vu

Deja Vu

A Poem by lauren emily
"

I always seem to be writing poems in the wee hours of the morning. This one was written at 1am.

"

"I'm in love with you" I say.

You repeat my confession, here I wish you to stay.

Time slows down for you and me,

The chaotic world seems to leave us be.

But soon life begins moving again,

and we fall away,

seeing each other less and less

everyday.

Soon you are a memory,

One I can soon forget.

I let you slip away,

for there is another I have met.

He seems too good,

perfect too.

I tell him "I love you"

but doesn't this just feel like

deja vu?

i like this poem.

the 2nd line: You repeat my confession, here I wish you to stay- is problematic.
i personally would change the last 6 words to read, simply- i wish you would stay
you keep the rhyme that way without it sounding forced as it does presently.

it's a good read as is. thanks

Writing poems early in the morning/late at night are quite fun in my opinion.. =)
This poem reminds me a lot of my best friend for some reason, I enjoyed reading it a lot. :D
