Seraphim Falls

Seraphim Falls

A Poem by TwilightReverie
"

Dont know what to say about this. A tad experimental. It’s never easy to leave/ The places you’ve always been/ But the spaces between your ears/ Aren’t as honest as they seem.

"

It’s never easy to leave

The places you’ve always been

But the spaces between your ears

Aren’t as honest as they seem.

All you saw was the angel

You had yet to see me fall

Feathers burnt to cinders

 Bones broken into horns.

It was a loyalty

lined in tragedy.

One I thought we’d dissolved.

 And I thought I saw

something worth falling for.

A glimmer of light

Among the folds of

A darkened soul.

But there’s a rung in hell

reserved

For those who only hurt.

For those who think

the good outweighs

the smallest pleasures

for another’s pain.

Though I couldn’t think

for a better place

For a showdown

With your demons

Face to face.

Because you can’t burn

all your bridges and run

Choose to make the cut

And not clean up the blood.

So c’mon down to Seraphim Falls

Where the water grapples with

The tangled rocks.

Where redemption meets

with those enchained enough

And the descent can be watched

By all.

I love how it had such an original flow, what really struck me was, "All you saw was the angel / You had yet to see me fall / Feathers burnt to cinders" I relate poetry with a portrayal of imagery, great job!
