Mirror Mirror on the WallA Poem by LalaMirror mirror on the wall Why do you compare me with them all My self-perception predicated on your reflection My confidence based on your projection Mirror mirror on the wall Living without you I cannot recall Every month in every year It's your image that I fear Yet every hour in every week It's your presence that I seek A viscous cycle of repetition Reducing my being to a simple vision A glimpse turns into a long stare Finding details I want to repair Emphasizing the parts I don't want to see Despising the hold you have over me Mirror mirror on the wall I wish I could live a life without needing you at all
