The fire burnt down, Again

The fire burnt down, Again

A Poem by Siddhiwinayak Sridhar
"

Speaker wakes up from a dream he wishes was the reality

"
With eyes wide open, after fire burnt out,
In careless contusion, into wishful thinking,
What was real wasn't anymore, considering that heart bled out,
In disappointment immeasurable, ended with pointless, shocked, unmoving blinking,
Thinking for eternity, wishing things weren't the same,
As time ran around, the thoughts went on,
Both ways it did, looking the current in the eye it fell,
So did I.

With incessant whining, like rain it fell,
Increasingly inside my mind,
Into subconscious, where it lay, Until time for resurgence rose, Emotional imbalance was sure to tail, Trying to keep myself from drifting apart for the nth time...

For a first poem I think it has great imagery, lovely use of words to describe the feeling of waking up from a dream and the series of emotions that one goes through once realising it isn't real. Keep it up, I'm sure the poet in you has even more to explore and share!
