Walking

Walking

A Poem by ;
"

A step in someone else's body....

Walking around Briggs at 15 is

not such a go

od prospect

The smells of un

deoderized armpits and the smack

of strawber

ry gum

The teachers too clustered

too different  to understand the

needs nor wants of

a teenager tryi

ng to become something older, something

better

While I walk these halls I see

poster, poster, flyer, flyer of the same

routine

School Spirit

ya

ya

Cheerleaders, Jocks, Goths,Nerds, Terds

all names, all reality

in the halls of this school

An exxageration of the opportunity to

be

come a genius whispered in your brains

ear

The slamming of lockers

The bang of books falling on the floor

While walking around Briggs High

At

15

I see this as one who is watching another who walks these halls...and taking what they might be thinking or seeing in their trek through this highschool.
The sounds and sights described bring back alot of memories from those days gone by.
How often did I look around and watch what was happening with almost a removed feeling...wondering if I would ever make a difference...no matter how much info teachers crammed into my head.

A great write...off the cuff and with a unique style!
