Where did you go?

Where did you go?

A Poem by Dripping Chocolate Madness
"

Don't do drugs, kids. Drugs are bad.

"
We had unbottled a travesty of dreams.
Covered the town in a deep purple mist.
We were never spotted,
But they heard our laughter.
Raucous, righteous, and pure.
We bundled our feet in asphalt,
And danced along the edge of a razor,
Until the dogs caught your scent.
Canella, Coffee and Caramel.
We set them to howl at our dancing shadows as we waltzed off into the wild, December lights.
Guzzling kerosene and traipsing down the shattered mirror highway,
Where I might have found you again.

This reads like an adventure but one of reckless youth.
When you live on the edge you're that much closer to falling off and if you don't it's leaves you with some great stories. I do like how you weave in scents and flavours into your poetry. It often works in favour of romanticizing a darker undertone.

I agree with your poem status line, Vagrant. Had experiences with drugs in my family and its never pleasant. This reads like the craziness of youth; living hell for leather under the influence of hallucinogens, with a wild time enjoyed but with trouble never far behind. Fun may be gained but things are lost as well.Your final line is quite profound.
