A Slow Drip

A Slow Drip

A Poem by Dripping Chocolate Madness

I met you like a leaky pipe
Drip by drip, and hidden from sight
Holding back (a vain attempt)
Taught me where the pipe was bent
But when I tried to trace it fast
I only lost it's destined path
And while I sat there, sad and alone
You reminded me to take it slow
A line can twist. A line can bend
A line can lead you to its end
But if you try to follow quick
You'll just get lost. Then, no more drips.
While breathing deep, and fighting tears
I listened hard with both my ears
Your words were true. And you were right
I rushed my goals, and then lost sight
The moments to appreciate
Are here. Right now.
And not our fates.

Thank you. You were right again...
I'm very glad that you're my friend.

The wisdom of Yoda, the rhythm of Poe. I like this, despite being a little disappointed it wasn't about chocolate, but you didn't mention that it wasn't chocolate dripping from the pipe, so I just assumed that you'd assume we'd know it was...so, it's all good 😀

Lolol yup. Most likely the Willy Wonka chocolate waterfall pipe.
Great to see you've been found. :)
A wise friend is a good thing to have!
