I pretend to know your voice:
Dark, and husky. That's my choice. Breathy. Low. Like liquid sex. A dragon's voice from damsel's neck. It seems to fit, but then again... It's not the same one from your pen. That voice is strange. Fairies chittering. Cackling jays. Chipmunks skittering. Nonsensical music, sang by the breeze... The only thing for words like these. In my head, I hear you laugh A rising giggle crescendos fast Up comes hand to cover mouth As chuckle sneaks its glad way out You look surprised to hear the sound Then another, and by now you've found There's even more. A traffic jam Of impatient laughter moves your hand Guffaws and cackles all explode Like certain arrows from a certain bow. In my dreams, we met and danced In surreptitious happenstance Around the lake, in swirling mist We alternate: First, dance. Then, kiss. And then, before you make me go I carry you back to your home. I set you down upon your dock And hit BREW on the coffee pot. We sit together in silent peace And share a mug. Just you and me. That is how I go to bed. With pretend voices in my head. :)
