Evening Sun and Silences

Evening Sun and Silences

A Poem by Vaidehi

Evening sun.

Sometimes speaks a language you cannot understand. ..

Is this the same sun that spoke to you?

The same sun that framed people’s faces in gold…

And smiled at you in glee;

The two of you brought together

In mystic transcendence?

The same sun that burnt you sweetly,

after you got wet in the rain…

Peeping through the pillars of the old temple

that you ran into to find solace?

Today, when it started to speak,

you couldn’t understand…

the same evening, and the same sun;

But standing between the two of you is now,

Incoherence.

Ignorance.

Incomprehension.

Can the language of the heart metamorphose into meaningless silence?

It's interesting how there are so many phrases that the sun evokes, and mere words that are evoked by 'the two of you'! :-)

so many sides to the sun, which you convey in a cutting way. I love it

"Can the language of the heart metamorphose into meaningless silence?"

Its beautiful... A write on the sun. I liked the way you have handled your concept. The different faces of the sun having both its plus and minus has been portrayed well.

Thanks for sharing...

I can comprehend silence's significance in writing such a beautiful piece of poetry. Good work!
