"Safe"

"Safe"

A Poem by Valentine

            "Safe"

The door is locked, where love abides.

Allowing no one access...to the inside.

So long closed, rust covers the key.

And moss enwraps...what use to be.

Lock covered and stained with age,

Stored safely, within...it's cage.

Pain is locked outside of the door,

Of this heart...that can feel...no more.

So long abused, love wept...and cried;

Crawled within...itself...and died.

A heart that closes within itself- great imagery. It reminded me of the flowers that close at night.
A heart without feelings, is indeed a dead heart.
