Night Shadows

Night Shadows

A Poem by Valentine

                      "Night Shadows"

Shadows appear...causing all light to disappear.
Slowly leaving all, deep in shades of black and grey.

For love  was the only apparent  light...
That brought sunshine to the darkest of nights.

But love died... and shadows walked in,
Obscuring all traces, of where it had been.

Night cannot warm the heart, frozen and cold.
As all warmth walked out, closing life's door.

Shutting out all light that was left by loves warmth...
And you...all that remains are shadows turning grey,

And the ice...that loves departure makes.

Thank you for stopping in. Kathie
when lover moves away with a reason or without, we should not be sad in both cases, but rather care ourselves. Love does not mean to be sad and to give sorrow to others for me. It is an emotional write filled with true feelings and pain. thanks for sharing. Keep writing. Kaithi :)

Yeah, That's exactly how we feel when our love moves away, comparing with light and dark.

Your statement in your Authors Notes. Edited version of an old write.
Love is like a flame, if you get too close you'll burn yourself, but if you stand too far away you'll die from the cold. But if you sit just right, the flame illuminates every piece of you, and fills you with warmth, comfort, security.

It hurts to only imagine when that flame is killed, taken away from you, and you're left out in the cold, that the flame made you forget. It truly is frightening.

Good write, beautiful as always, Kathie.

Hey, I have been on this site for about 10 years. Have 700 + writes on here, Kathie
An ice-age has taken hold where once was eternal Summer.
There are great lines in this throwing up many stark images. (The shadows walking in to consume the light - shadows with no bodies attached, quite eerie, quite brilliant)
I enjoyed reading this Kathie.
