Two Peas in a Pod

Two Peas in a Pod

A Poem by Emily Jellybean :)

You're older,
wiser,
better,
stronger.
We are so different and so clashing
Yet here we are, somehow matching.

We look alike
With our sad eyes and our love that he denies.

We dream alike
Images of white cakes,
Colorful flowers,
Wedding rings,
And a forever and ever
But we both wake up,
With minds full of mistakes,
Wasted hours,
Queens but no kings,
And a heartache that we never thought we'd endeavor.

We hate each other
Because we are so alike
We'll never forget,
like how to ride a bike.
Our triangle of dishonesty and disbelief
Our greatest fear, our greatest relief.

Giving up on that angle,
Our shape collapsed
Our web untangled.
I let go, and so did you.
Similarly, our biggest fear came true.
Losing the one we both adored.
One of us, somehow more.
But our love was unmatched.
He didn't care.
All he had for us was a bed to share.
We are different, in ways I can't explain.
Yet we are same, in a way that drives us both insane.

We loved the same one, both honestly and in vain.
