F A L L E N

F A L L E N

A Poem by Vasco

Strong. There I go!

I am powerful. What I think, I say! What I say, is Authority.

Unquestioned!

But after a time there were no more questions.

 Life to a standstill.

It was not quite a peaceful one.

Alive with dread.

A cacophony of formless noises.

Till the last dry leaf

F A L L E N

on earth made a frail sound

my tough head like a nutshell cracked open

Inside the nut with uncertainty its essential scent reveled.

A squirrel popped out from nothing.

Grabbed me

happily

hopped away.

I liked the metaphor used here and the message that is to be conveyed is quite clear and strong.... A very good one...Vasco.
