Summer Sunlight

Summer Sunlight

A Poem by Verin

Reaching down from blue

Pulling my chin up

When it’s down

Eyes closed as I face you

Comforting after another lonely night

Warmth tells me I’m alive

All I want to do is breathe you in

An involuntary smile crosses

I’d laugh but worry instead

Fear of breaking this serenity

Snapping out of this moment

Just a little longer please

A welcome feeling

Reminds me of how small

Each problem is

To stay here

Would be

wonderful
