A Real Lady

A Real Lady

A Poem by Victoria

Here I am, stitches and all

In your hands

Don't let me fall

My sad blue-green buttons

look into your eyes

I'm worn from the gluttons

and their former lies

I'm tattered and torn

with thick,matted, red hair

my button eyes look forlorn

as I blankly stare

I have rips in my fabric

tears in my seams

and yet by some magic

there's still a small dream

A dream that you'll see me

and just fall in love

a dream that they'll all see

just what i'm made of

A hope that you'll love me

and take me away

A tattered toy no longer

a lady, if only for a day...

Just a comment on your author's note here: You should care about how well you did on it because the "idea behind it" can be felt so much more when the author cares to make it so. Anyhow, I thought the piece was pretty good. The rhyming was well done.
