Fade away..

Fade away..

A Poem by Victoria Lee~

I cannot
see or hear you
Yet  I know you are there
Every night, every day
Judging me
Watching
every move I make
Analyzing
every word I write
Twisting everything I say
into something about you
Narcissistic
 Pessimistic
 Maybe even
psychotic
You are
A fading piece of the past
that I prefer not to remember
I only have the scars from your attacks
to remind me you ever were
 The knife to the back
should cause you the most shame
But it was your insane, angry words
that caused me the most pain
Just like the bruises left on my soul
You're just a memory
fading away
A sad scene
Just a bad dream
Fading away
Fade
away

I love the color and structure of this piece, it's simply beautiful. You have done a wonderful job on not only writting a good piece, but making something that is nice to look at as well. It is always a joy to read your work, this is no exception.

I hate being under the microscope of anyone's heavy hand. For that reason, I can say I relate 100% with this write...I guess knowing who you are and understanding our imperfections is enough for me. I know where to go when I mess up and once I make it right, I cast it to the wind, never to be remembered. I don't live in condemnation or shame or guilt. It is a thing of the past. So happy to have found that secret. It sure makes living much more enjoyable and peaceful.

You have hammered out another flawless piece, Victoria. Great job! Carole

This is a favorite! I can relate to the feeling that you describe. I think sometimes words can hurt more than physical abuse. Im trying very hard to live in today, because if I keep on looking in the rearview mirror of life I will wreck. This is something I really needed to read today is was a very cathartic piece! ~ Jude xo

I like this. Not only are the words well chosen, but the presentation, the visual layout, really drives home the feelings behind them.

I especially love
the fading away
at the
end

Another good one, Victoria.

Oh, those people who leave such as effect on us, even from years in the past. Excellent job describing the hurt, the anger, and the trying to forget.

Victoria, I love this very much. It was expertly wriiten and I could relate to this so much. These lines linger in my mind and they say so much.
But it was your insane, angry words
that caused me the most pain
Just like the bruises left on my soul

A well crafted piece!

This is a strong and powerful piece. I like how you ended the piece with the words fade away together and then by themselves on separate lines. Nice job.
