Words of a Writer~The dreamersA Poem by Victoria Lee~Another day filled with plastic smiles, empty promises, and broken down dreams. People going through the motions. Hello, how are you? Never really listening as they rush right past. Hurry up, get ready. Fall into bed, another day done. Get up and doing it over again. The plastic people with thier plastic smiles, Pretending all is well, Caught in a trap, they can't get out of. Easier to pretend life is good, rather than really make it happen. Thier dreams never come true, because they do not believe in fairy tales and happy endings.
The dreamers, never give up hope. Some of us are gypsies searching for home, writers, dancers, musicians, painters, comics and clowns.
We walk across a high wire, knowing that chances are, one of the days we are going to fall.
We stand way too close to the fire, knowing we could get burnt. We push the envelope, and live on the edge. Chasing our dreams, Taking time to live in the moment.
The dreamers know what living life is about. We dance on white sand beaches, in the glow of the moonlight, on a perfect summer night. We spread a blanket in the grassy meadows, Just to stare at the stars at night. With lyrics written on a scrap of paper, A song running through our mind, We take the everyday life, and make it beautiful. We sing a solo song. Knowing all the other dreamers, will hear our words and be singing along. With hope in our pocket, A smile on our face, We write. We dream of fairy tales and happy endings. All our failures and heartbreaks, set free in the wind. We get up each day and begin again. A new day, another chance, to turn it all around. With hopes that one of the days, The plastic people will read our words, sing along to our songs, finding peace and comfort, in the words of a writer.
