Attempt

Attempt

A Poem by Sovereign of Silence
"

We can always try.

"
The girl who was unbreakable,
the porcelain doll in a haze of purity,
finally broke.

The boy who was so strong,
who could take the most cynical of rejections,
utterly crumbled,

The girl who laughed everything off,
the epitome of bubbly giggles,
hysterically cried.

The boy who never stopped trying,
who was the determined type,
gave up.

And in the morning, their parents found,
in a foggy mirror, etched in with Sharpie,
I tried.
