Ode To Music

You allow me to see

without having to open my eyes

You make people happy,

sad, angry

you allow people to have emotions

You are background noise or

you are the only thing heard

Like a bird you go unnoticed

on the street

but when thought about

you are as real as anything else

You light up people's lives

without trying

You evoke emotion in 

just a few words

Like a dog

you are a constant companion

in the best

and worst times

Without you the world

would be expressionless and

gray

You can take away a storm

or care a hurricane

People rely on you

depend on you for comfort

You make people care

You let them show who they are

You have no rules

not boundaries

You are a star

whether audible

or not

everyone knows you are somewhere

You carry with you 

secrets from people's souls

and messages that 

desperately want to be heard

You are loved and

hated all at once

You are the ground that great minds

stand on.
