Aftermath

Aftermath

A Poem by Samantha ~virginpoet

Inside my heart
it feels like such a
desperate lonely place

I wear your scar so proudly
that place where pain
can't be erased

My fingers find
that jagged spot
I'll still bear
the scars
and alterations
your love
left behind

Love can do that to someone. But can also heal pain and scars left by another.

The marks upon our hearts and souls unseen yet far more deep and cause more pain than any actual physical mark, scar, injury or impairment could ever come close to causing. There is a graceful simple elegance to this piece that makes it stand out to me.

Keep it up and thanks for sharing.

It is good to read your words again. I missed your poetry. Scars are reminders. To be wiser in the gift of emotion. Thank you for sharing the excellent poetry.
