Recollections From A Broken Soul

Recollections From A Broken Soul

A Poem by Tijana
"

She's long gone, now.

"

He remembers that day, he remembers it clearly.
The dawn when he lost someone he held dearly.
His heart is aching, broken and blistered,
Why did she have to follow Death's whispers?

The echo of her words still stays in mind,
True love redefined,
Along with the memory of their bodies intertwined.
All of it forced to stay behind.

He's left alone to struggle on and on,
Living forever while she is gone.
As another day quickly passes him by,
He realizes now that the tears have run dry.

So long ago he held her near,
Her features twisted into a look of fear.
He pulled her closer as she started to fade,
Already feeling alone and afraid.

That was the day of her death,
The day he held her as she took a last breath.

Author's Note

Tijana
I honestly meant to make a story around this, but never quite got around to it. To further explain, the woman written above was going to surprise her lover with gifts and dinner. While on her way back from purchasing what she needed, her house had been broken into and she was beaten down until left for dead. Her partner found her on the return from work, and she died in his arms. He was never the same again.

About
I've always loved writing, though I'm not sure what first inspired it. It drew me in from day one, however, and even now I still enjoy creating my own work. Although it's been slower in the making as .. more..
