The Pride of Nature

The Pride of Nature

A Poem by Vishnu Mugundan

I am lawless and neutral,
I own the entire world,
You may think I am unusual,
for I cannot be furled.

I am just, and fair,
I am dispassionate, and detached,
I am as free as air,
My authority cannot be snatched.

I am independent and nonaligned,
I am equitable, and unbiased,
I am unbigoted, and unconfined,
I am disinterested, and balanced.

I am not a giver of life,
I am, perhaps, a life taker,
I am sometimes the ending of a strife,
I am the gorger of the leftover.

I am very powerful
and I am a glutton,
I am very thoughtful,
when it comes to engulfing a button.

I am bright, I ignite,
I am great, I daze,
I devastate, I incite,
I gaze, I baze.

I burn, I warm,
I chase, I warn,
I adjourn, I form,
I race, I scorn.

I was awake at all times,
when you brushed and bathed,
and when you were at your mealtimes,
and when you were praised and raised.

To sum it up all,
I am the greatest invention of the divine,
I have no beginning, and no end at all,
I am infinite.

Author's Note

Vishnu Mugundan
In this poem,
Nature is depicted in the form of fire.
So don't search for the usage of nature in the poem.
The pride is not disillusioned, per contra, it is described, and distinguished.
