Ugly Duckling

my take on the story.

a swan in a lake of ducklings
written off as an outcast
'he's not like us
so he must be ugly'
society abandoned him
made a hermit of him
in his long and lonely years
an outcast became gorgeous
his flaw made him excell
took him farther than any duckling could ever wish to go
his worst critics would easily turn to admiration
'no, he's not like us
he's better.'
