Moving On

As I cast these final memories aside

I smiled, I did not cry

I know now that what happened

Has led me to where I need to be

I know now that I can look back

But I can also not be held back

I think of you fondly

Though I doubt the same for you

But that's okay now

I don't need your thoughts

I don't need your approval

I don't need your words

I do care, don't  get me wrong

But now it is different

I hope you are happy forevermore

I hope you have the life you want

But I no longer care if I'll see you on the streets

I no longer care if I will ever hear from you again

I no longer care if you think ill of me

I'm happy

I'm reaching my goals

I'm flying and soaring

I could say I didn't need you

Truth be told, I did

But it's time to move forward

It's time to keep rising

It's time to be me
