The Power of Destruction

The Power of Destruction

A Poem by Voice

The Power of Destruction

Fire to ashes

Ashes to dust

A flame will destroy

All it does touch

This is not the end though

Because with death comes rebirth

Fire is Mother Nature’s way

Of reclaiming the earth

Where a house met its end

And turns into soot

There is now a space

For a young sapling to root

A forest will grow

Where people lived

Now plants and animals will flourish

Like they once did

We cannot stop ourselves

So in the end destruction must

For nothing else can tame

Our money grubbing lust
