COME TOGETHER

COME TOGETHER

A Poem by Vol

In the tight confluence of Tennessee

ridges, the sky above the tor out front

diffuses from gray to dusty blue.

I am up before the sun.

My coffee lays quiet in the bottom

of the Navajo cup I bought in Flagstaff

that time... yellow, with eleven blue runs

down the spider web cracks in the glaze.

Corn pollen. Táádidíín,

the source of the sacred unifying

theory of non-relativity.

Corn pollen morning ritual, tossed

in the rising sun to bless the day.

Caucasian coffee in my corn pollen cup.

And I bet coffee tastes better for the view and the cracked glaze of your cup is a story of your life in itself.
Your view sounds stunning, to be best appreciated in the wee hours, before those pesky wee humans start their daily scuttle. 😊
