e e sonnett

e e sonnett

A Poem by Vol

they are doing a whole program on

e e cummings with his voice on tape

and just like yeats his enunciation is

one long whine in some attempt at

artistic gravitas but to my cynical

ear it seems like punctuated hypocrisy

sound without fury

i think of the troubled time of

ginsberg ferlinghetti and pollock

when nothing made sense and

meaning was lost

buried under the thunder

of one hand clapping

until even sex got confused.
