scrawled in two foot letters beside a long iron fire escape. We climbed those stairs to look through a small window in the door. There were old boxes and chairs tumbled around, then up and across to the other wall.
MOVEMENT! EYES!
Someone staring back! It felt like Friday the 13th on Elm Street! But, ahhh… A mirror!
Why? Hahahahahaha! Indeed! So we laughed and fired up one for the road. I’ve never figured it out, but something about the way that slimy fog clamped down on us, stifled the mood as we drove home for the last time in the summer of love. © 2025 VolFeatured Review
