When I Was A Child

When I Was A Child

A Poem by Nightmare Industries
"

How much better life is when you're young and don't have all these paranoid thoughts on your mind.

"

When I was a child I didn't have to fear,

When I was a child I knew you'd be near.

When I was a child life was much more simplistic,

Because now that I'm grown up....

everything is weird.

I look around at how the world has changed,

And by doing so I realize it's not the same.

What happened to all the peace and honour?

Where is all the people's shame?

All the war, the hate, the greed.

What is there that one man can do?

Like a flashback of World War 2,

I could hear the cries of a thousand jews....

That will never be freed.

When I was a child I never knew of love,

When I was a child I believed in differen't stuff.

Now that I'm grown the world's drowning with religion,

But the truth is: there's no "Higher Power" up above.

The world has grown paranoid,

and to what do we owe?

All the fear, the discrimination,

That the government shows!

I am sitting here in my room,

wishing I was still a child.

Or maybe if I could throw life's complications away,

Then maybe....just maybe, that could save me from my doom.
