Golden Chance

Golden Chance

A Poem by WAkashdeep

When reality becomes real,

When my mental ambiguity becomes clear,

When I fall from the heights of my imagination,

Directly into the endless pit of frustration.

The flowing river of time drowns me,

My own self-reflection clowns me,

I feel lost and dejected,

I feel defeated and rejected.

Among a thousand taunts,

The fear of failure haunts,

Sucks up the little strength that was left,

I only see my weaknesses, inabilities and defects.

If only I could prove them wrong,

And be able to come back strong,

I pray for a moment of God’s glance,

To bless me with a golden chance.

I know that my destiny lies ahead,

Then why do I keep looking back instead?

It’s futile to try to change the past,

All I want is a brand new start.
