I think Jacob has a good idea .., a hermetically sealed bottle with a poem. I don't know what would last a 1000 years in a river. Will the river even last a 1000 years. An intriguing piece of brevity here:)

I think a river will. There's a sick part of me that wishes they had a washing machines and batteries a thousand years ago, so that I could find them not decomposing on the banks and bottoms of beautiful brooks and creeks. I envy our future selves for the dearth of old trash they will have for to study. Like I said, it's kind of a sick wish. Modernity!

i guess it would depend what it is and who found it a 1000 years later...and of course, what they would say when they found it.
maybe a poem in a bottle...?
