Finally Free

Finally Free

A Poem by Skye
"

I came up with this poem after hearing about what happened to one of my best friends. I changed it's context slightly from when I first wrote it, I admit, but it means the same thing. Hope you enjoy!

"
You became irrational
Unconcerned with anything
And who could blame you?
You were tortured, overcome.
We just watched as you faded
You faded away
Slowly slipping away from us
We could do nothing
Just as helpless as you
Your life was stolen
We waited for you to retaliate,
To break free
To fight back
But you didn't
You where broken, beaten
Had lost your will
You didn't care any longer
We were there when you let go,
I held your hand as you smiled

I quite enjoyed this. I'm not entirely sure of the whole meaning of this, I feel there is this deeper meaning that I'm never going to understand. I liked how there were parts in italics, and the impact those parts had.

Sad. Sad and just plain beautiful.

About
Sometimes, I forget my passion underneath the demands of life and want of perfection. Then there are those nights where everything is clear, and I can't help but write what I feel. I love meeting .. more..
