How a Mood can Change

How a Mood can Change

A Poem by Rebekah Smith
"

Um...I think too much, about things that seldom matter.

"

There's something in your velvet voice
That tames the rage in mine
There really isn't any choice
But to relax and to resign
Your quiet soothing commands
My mind into submission
Ignoring my demands
And hateful disposition.

The boiling stew my blood becomes
Will never burn your heart
Because you know that you're the one
I'd loved right from the start
The world just isn't ready
For every piece of me
But your hand is firm and steady
As you cradle me to sleep.

There's light inside your velvet voice -
And it's just the glow I need
There really isn't any choice
My heart's already freed.
