Homecoming

Homecoming

A Poem by Alexander Dillon
"

A poem about coming home, fall, homecoming, and nostalgia

"
Dark nights turning cold and brisk.
Damp leaves scattered on the earth
Fill the air with their sweet fragrance.
Familiar.

Homecoming.
A signal of End Times.
When all that matters
Is today's exam, tomorrow's practice, your date to the dance.

Homecoming.
A season where
Immediacy ruled our lives.
Every athlete striving for championships,
But communally experienced and represented in one game:

Homecoming.
