PEACE IN THE ODDEST PLACE

PEACE IN THE ODDEST PLACE

A Poem by Wasekera S Chiphazi Banda
"

Finding peace in death...

"
I set myself free
From the Sorrows of this world
Meaningless desires won't be my downfall
I escape reality by building a cage around
My fragile insecure heart
The walls are so thick
Not even friends are allowed inside.

There are days I long for a voice to tell me
Everything will be Alright
But it's not a perfect world out there
The only one I can trust is myself

I lay down and close my eyes
There I am in a beautiful place
Gently floating
My dreams surpass my reality
If this is the only way I will be at ease
I am willing to hold on
So I close my eyes real tight and pray
I never wake.

To you, this is death
To me,it's home
The world doesn't suit well with me
I don't belong

If I don't wake tomorrow
Please don't cry
I have flown to my real home

When that wooden box reaches the ground
I am free
Some people go to the ocean and watch the waves
Some, dance to music
I find my peace in the oddest place
