Heaven Isn't Good Enough

Heaven Isn't Good Enough

A Poem by Wasteofpaint666

Heaven isn’t good enough

Please settle for my arms

They’re safer than the walls you’ve built

To keep you safe from harm

Cause you built them in self interest

Out of selfishness and fear

But my arms reach out of love

To help assure you that I’m here

I don’t mean to criticize

To hurt you or offend

But it was such a bad choice

To so actively defend

To push away the true love

That just danced into your life

Without even considering

That one day I would be easing your strife

I’m not looking for an argument

I don’t want to start a fight

I just want to be the woman

That you let set your heart right

Heaven isn’t good enough

Please settle for my arms

And as long as there is breath in me

Your heart will know no harm
