Watching You

Watching You

A Poem by WaynEZ

In times of need, I'm never present
Yet my presence a gift, I see that you're effervescent
I hear you were out again, riding out in Weston
Experience in life teaches the better lessons
So why do I sense this new need
Because it seemed from the get go that your bonds had been freed
Your mind be the field, mine the mines, not the seed
So yes I confess that I did the dirty deed
But you grew none the less
You being a strong breed
Questions directed to your peers and they agreed
You're better for this and I watch with expectation
Although my words be but a whisper in the trees
Whether you hold strong, or break because it hurts
Wait patiently, or take advice because it works
I'll be around, with encouragement rehearsed
May my presence be a present
Yes, a gift without the curse
