CANDYFLOSS IS LOST

“Candyfloss, why are you crying?” asked Jim.

“Because I’m lost and can’t find my way home!” cried

            Candyfloss.

“Well, that’s okay,” said Jim.  “I’ll help you find your

            way home.”

Candyfloss cried, “My mommy and daddy will be real mad

because I was supposed to come right home from school and I’ve been

            wandering around for an  hour!”

“Well, can we call your mommy and daddy and tell them why

you’re late?  All we have to do is find a telephone.”

“No, we can’t do that!” wailed Candyfloss.  “My mommy and

daddy will never let me walk to school again!”

Just then Candyfloss and Jim heard the sound of footsteps

            rustling in the grass.

“Jim, what’s that noise?” asked Candyfloss, shaking.

“I don’t know,” said Jim.  “But I think we’d better get out of here,”

            he said hurriedly.

They began running across the grass when they heard a man’s voice

            calling to them.

“Can I help you two kids?  You seem to be lost.”

“Well, I’m not,” replied Jim, “but my friend Candyfloss is.”

“I can’t find my way home and my mommy and daddy were expecting me

            an hour ago!” sobbed Candyfloss.

“Well,” said the policeman, “why don’t the two of you just get in my car

and I’ll take you both home.  And I’ll explain everything to your parents,

            Candyfloss.”

“Oh, thank you, Mr. Policeman,” said Candyfloss, sniffling and wiping

            her eyes.

They all got into the police car and headed for Candyfloss’ house.

                                   THE END
