Eulogy for My Lady

Eulogy for My Lady

A Poem by Nobody
"

Purely made while procrastinating.

"
Nobody can live without water.
Nobody can live without air.
Not even the King of the Kings.
Not even the mightiest knight.
To say that you are my water and my air,
Is a shameful understatement.
You are much more vital.
When death snatched you away from me,
I knew I had to chase it and save your soul.
But I didn't have my only source of power;
for you had been taken away.
The only way to defeat death,
is to show that I'm strong enough to live on.
But enduring this unbearable pain
keeps me on the brink of death.

Life has lost its meaning.
I screamed till my lungs shrank down,
for the earth to stop revolving,
for time to stand frozen still.
I would coin all my blood
just to have another day with you.
But every act I commit is merely an empty blow towards a plain concrete wall.
A droplet that doesn't ripple on the vast tideless ocean.
A subtle pump upon your pulseless heart.
Once again it occurs to me,
that all my power has vanished.
I thought the universe turned blind and deaf;
but i realized that it's me who turned mute.

I wish there's a chance for me.
To deliver the speeches I left unspoken.
To declare my love that runs down way deeper.
This is not how i have foreseen our future.
But in a flick of a wand our past is settled.

Your absence creates a mirror right in front of me.
I can't see what's ahead,
for all it reflects is what's behind.
My sight may have been blocked,
but you're always in the scope of my vision.
And it should stay like that forever.
Because I don't want to see a world where I can't see you.

Today, I will not shed any tear;
for mournful tears are selfish.
When death is the reason behind your painful weep,
then you are not crying for the deceased;
you are mourning for your own loss.
For if you wish someone dies in peace,
You can't expect them to smile while you show your grief.

I am not here to say goodbye.
I am here to ask you to watch over me.
My lady I will see you soon.
We will be reunited forever up there,
in our eternal 'home'.
