No Life at All

No Life at All

A Poem by Alex

weekly,

I drag my body to the pavement and

open the door

forcing a smile

as I put my prescription on the desk

weakly,

I climb the stair to the relentless

cold bed

and throw myself into sleep

with the absence of you

weekly,

my phone will vibrate with the pity

my house will welcome the sorry

my fridge will bare empathy in meals

with the tyrannical questions of my health

weakly,

I ease my way onto the barrier

this bridge gains the weight of me

but it will soon regain its strength

life without you

is no life at all

Excellent expression of your deeper feelings, dear poet. You reveal so much in such a small space.
