No longer with me

No longer with me

A Poem by Wheresware

I drink myself to sleep tonight
To only awake in fright
She will forever haunt my mind
A woman like that I will never find

She moved on a long time ago
I have never forgotten her glow
If I could you how I feel
My heart just might heal

But she's never single
When I'm ready to mingle
She will never take me
But my heart won't let her be

I don't know why I'm so obsessed with her
I guess trying to get what we never were
I'll just sit here and ponder the old
With the hand I'm dealt I must fold

You know love is a hard game to play
Yet we play it night and day
Then I pray to a god I don't believe in
The thought of her will always make me grin
