The Sun

The Sun

A Poem by Will

I watch the sun come up,
and think of you and me.
Only happiness and love,
as far as the eye could see.

The sun climbs up through the sky,
and brings light to us all.
Never would we think that
the mighty sun could fall.

We though the same of our love;
that it would last forever.
Never would we be apart;
but alas, never say never.

Just like the sun, we reached our peak,
oh so bright and proud.
But soon, we begin to grow apart,
like strangers in a crowd.

The sun goes down and all goes dark,
night has fallen on us.
After all, it's only natural,
no need for all this fuss.

So as I watch the sun go down,
I think of you and me.
I pray to God, you mighty sun,
that my heart can settle with thee.

Eh. I had the idea in the car, just a line or two floating around in my head, so I had to write it out. Any feedback is appreciated.

I like the symbolism of the sun, rising with your love and setting with the heartbreak. Good flow and rhyme. :)
