Something Beyond words

Something Beyond words

A Poem by William Coad

When waking eyes

No longer see

the reason they

came to be.

When coldest heats

begins to ache,

when this ancient echo

starts to break.

When things no longer

as they seem

and this old life

an empty dream

When sky is empty

stained with black

and all of time

begins to roll back,

When left alone

in an empty grave

and thinking of

the things we gave

I have to wonder

in point of fact

why did you stop?
What do I get back?
