Romeo's Bleedin'

Romeo's Bleedin'

A Poem by William Paris

Listen bub'
there's this guy laying out in street
he's just layin' there
not movin' a muscle
I think he got hit by a car
or maybe truck 'man

geeze
there's like blood everywhere
it's all over these flowers
he had in his hand
can you call the cops?
damn he looks bad

no, no it don't look so good
he ain't gonna make it
what nice duds he has on
well, it was a nice suit anyway
god look at the angle his legs are
are those chocolates under him?

some poor girl
she's gonna miss her roses
and some tasty chocalates
but this guy
damn, this guy's gonna miss it all
ain't you dialin' 911?

wonder what his name is
this poor poor bleedin' Romeo
layin' on the hot pavement
backin' up traffic
and gettin' blood on perfectly good
flowers and candy

you think he fucked up?
probably was goin' to say he was sorry
when he got hit by this truck
now Romeo O' Romeo
is just a sorry son-of-a-b***h
too bad for him

Listen bub'
ain't you been hearin' me?
there is a guy layin' on the street
bleedin' everywhere!
don't you speak english or hablo espanol?
call the cops

Romeo is dyin' out there...
