Raspberry Iced Tea

Raspberry Iced Tea

A Poem by Gypsy Willow

Sweet and somber
Solitude
She doesn't know what
To do

Sweet temptations
Are back again
Trying to shatter
Her world

She rests her head
Against the ancient oak
He sheilds her through
His dying boughs

He holds her close
And though he tries
The thoughts can still
Get in...

The babbling brook
And the weeping willow
Both taunt
What she wants
To do

For the pain is
So great
Her vision is blurred
And all she can see
Is scarlet

"I just want it
To disappear."
She softly whispers

As the breeze
Wraps her
In its arms
She looks upon
The silver moon
And prays for
Some salvation

She must refuse
The relief she craves
Though at times
She can't see how

But though the crone
May tempt her so
She can never accept
The offer

Liguid peace
Never lasts
And capsules
Have no answers

She knows this truth
Is real
She knows this pain
Will pass

And until then
She will weep
Into
The wise oak.

That was a beautiful read! Emotional and hit home, though tinted with strength and hope making it feel painless too. Very enjoyable!
