Footprints in the snow

Footprints in the snow

A Poem by willweb

I followed your footprints

in the soft winter snow

My heart beating faster

the closer I got

to that old oak tree

Hoping to find you

standing beneath the mistletoe

eyes closed, rosy cheeks,

glistening skin, lips puckered

waiting for a kiss from me

Only to realize

these footprints I followed

were mine from yesterday

when I went searching

for the same thing

I was so hopeful!! But there's that twist again.
You need to find a girl with petite feet, so you can tell the difference.
