Merely a fingerprint

Merely a fingerprint

A Poem by willweb

She touched the canvas

and her fingerprint, though smeared

brought peace

within the frame serenity

dripped, forming colours,

exotic and inspiring,

bringing life to this scene,

breath to the sky

with an eye

the world dances

as an easel holds on tight

not wanting to relinquish

the masterpiece it now grips

artistic whispers,

pastels and brushstroke glances,

blown kisses on hummingbird wings,

alluring the effects of one’s hand

merely a fingerprint,

the softest touch

and beauty is known,

the canvas becomes her…

I am the easel

This made me feel like I was in the middle of a painting being done by and in much love. Nice gentle flow and peace forwarding. Thank you.

Thank you so very much. I am happy you liked this
the lover to an easel, and she, the painting to love and hold onto...
His masterpiece...her colors are what really make him the artist...
made me start singing "Hold on tight to your dreams" by ELO....

Thanks so much, good song choice! I appreciate you stopping by.
Soft, gentle imagery. I especially liked these lines:
within the frame serenity
bringing life to this scene,
the world dances
not wanting to relinquish
the masterpiece it now grips
artistic whispers,
pastels and brushstroke glances,
blown kisses on hummingbird wings,
merely a fingerprint,
the softest touch
and beauty is known,
the canvas becomes her…
